Known by several common names (Lance-leaf Dudleya among them), Dudleya lanceolata is known by butterfly enthusiasts as the host plant of the spectacular Sonoran Blue.

Dudleya lanceolata with bloom in the San Gabriels. It is common along the West Fork trail/road up San Gabriel canyon, which also happens to be an easy spot to see Sonoran Blues in the spring.
