Danthonia californica, California oatgrass, is the larval host of Lindsey's skipper (Hesperia lindseyi) around Sawmill Camp and Burnt Peak in the northwestern corner of the Angeles National Forest. This photo was taken in June, 2021, when I was looking for the skipper there without success. The area had burned pretty severely and invasive grasses were everywhere; I found very little of this oatgrass.
