Glaucopsyche lygdamus (Southeast Sierra Nevada population)

Silvery Blue

Ken Davenport describes this in his Kern/Tulare publication as an undescribed subspecies similar to eastern Mojave desert lygdamus. It flies from approx. mid-March to well into May in the Kelso Valley/Butterbredt Peak area and ranges northwest to Lamont Peak and possibly Kennedy Meadows, with records at those higher elevations in Tulare Co. from late May to late June. Ken doesn't mention a host, but Lupinus excubitus may be one of them in the Kelso Valley area.
